How It Started
The Dixie Grill is an iconic Southern restaurant in Live Oak, rich with history and sweet memories from its founding. Since 1959 it has been lovingly tended by the Wade family before Charles & Myra Thomas brought fresh new ideas to help give this beloved eatery a second life back in 1984.
A Family Affair
Charles & Myra's son Robbie worked at the restaurant in the early days but left to attend college out west in the early 90s. There he was introduced to a chef that truly inspired him with innovative Southwest dishes. Robbie thought to himself "Why can't we do that with southern food?" Robbie rejoined the restaurant in 1996 with a newfound passion for creating unique culinary delights with a Southern flair.
Look to the Future
Robbie's mother Myra retired in 2023 and since then he has taken on the role of General Manager. His experience in working every aspect of the business from the top down has put in the position to take The Dixie Grill to the next level. He is focusing on growing online sales, developing a whole-pie sales initiative, and rebuilding his catering business. Come on in and see what everyone is talking about!
